BrittKids Koncerts create a fun and casual setting for local families to introduce their children to music, dance, and the visual arts. These free performances, especially designed for children under age 10, help our next generation of artists learn about the performing arts in a way that is both entertaining and educational. Early exposure to live performance increases a child’s interest in artistic activities, such as learning an instrument, singing, dancing, painting, or participating in a theater program.
We are delighted to once again welcome Smith & Yarn back to our series, after their exciting performances the last two seasons. Aaron Nigel Smith is a GRAMMY® nominated producer, teaching artist and nonprofit leader. He starred in the PBS kids show Between the Lions, runs an international music education program called 1 World Chorus, and co-produced All One Tribe, an album of 25 Black family music artists that was nominated for a GRAMMY®. Red Yarn, aka Andy Furgeson, is an award-winning Texas-born family folk-rocker and puppeteer with seven albums, several video series, and extensive national touring under his belt. Based in Portland, he has built a devoted following there which extends throughout the United States.
