I’ve pulled together the best splash pads and spray parks to visit in southern Oregon with your children this 2024 Summer Season! We’ve found all the best splash pads in Medford, Grants Pass, Central Point, Jacksonville, Ashland, Talent, White City and more.

Splash Pads in Southern Oregon are open all summer long. In a typical season the splash pads open on Memorial Day and close the day after Labor Day. If the weather is warm before Memorial Day or still warm after Labor Day, the individual parks may decide to open sooner and/or extend the splash park season. I’ve linked each spray park’s website so you can check to see when they are operating.

One of the most frequent questions parents have about splash pads in Southern Oregon is which splash pad is the best for toddlers and young children. For most young kids, the spray parks that have over head structures that rain the water down are a bit daunting. The unexpected shower can ruin your visit quickly.

If your kid is younger and just starting to explore the splash pads in the Rogue Valley, I recommend starting at a smaller park where the water features primarily spray upward. This will give your little one some sense of control on deciding when they want to get wet. And in general we find the water is always cold so be prepared with some towels to warm the littles up in between play sessions.

In my opinion, the best toddler friendly spray park in Medford, Oregon is Lone Pine Park. If you’re looking for an easy & smaller place to start, my overall pick for the best splash pad in southern Oregon for toddlers is Doc Griffin Park in Jacksonville, Oregon. If you’re wondering what the best splash pad in the Rogue Valley for older kids is, Don Jones Spray Park in Central Point, Oregon seems to be the most popular. I’ve included photos of each splash pad so you can get a feel for what water structures they have.

Public spray parks are free and are open to the public. That is a wonderful thing, but the down side of that is they aren’t always filled with families playing. When you’re exploring a new splash pad to try, its good to do a drive by and see if the spray park is a good fit for you. I try out a lot of new splash pads and playgrounds in our local parks, and I keep a short list in case I need to pivot to Plan B or Plan C. The Rogue X Aquatic Center in Medford, Oregon has a splash pad outside their indoor pool area. The Rogue X splash pad requires paid admission to their facility to use. Check their website for the current rates.
