Visiting The Southern Oregon Lavender Trail with Kids
We’ve found the best lavender farms to take kids to in Southern Oregon!
Every summer in June and July, Southern Oregon families head out to enjoy the Lavender Festival on the Southern Oregon Lavender Trail.
The lavender farms open up on the weekends Mid-June through July depending on when the lavender is blooming that year. The Southern Oregon Lavender Trail has kid-friendly lavender festivals on two weekends: one weekend in June and one weekend in July. For 2024, the Southern Oregon Lavender Trail Festivals are June 21-23, 2024 and July 12-14, 2024.
There are six kid-friendly lavender farms on the Southern Oregon Lavender Trail:
During the festivals, each lavender farm will offer different family-friendly activities including live music, food vendors, craft vendors, and kid-friendly activities. The best way to see what’s happening for kids is to follow their social media pages- I’ve linked each lavender farm’s Facebook page in the list above.

Kid-Friendly Lavender Farms on the Southern Oregon Lavender Trail
All the lavender farms on the Southern Oregon Lavender Trail are kid-friendly. Some are also dog-friendly (well behaved and on a leash). Each lavender farm has its own charm and appeal, and each offers different activities during the lavender festival. If you can, try and visit them all during this summer’s 2024 Southern Oregon Lavender Trail Festival.
If you can only make time to take your kids to one lavender farm, I’ve put together the highlights of what each lavender farm has going on for the Lavender Festival to help you choose. I’ve also linked each lavender farm’s website so you can take a closer look before you head out. Don’t forget, their Facebook pages are linked in the list above-those will have all the lavender festival updates.
Dos Mariposas Vineyards & Lavender
Dos Mariposas Vineyards & Lavender ranked highest when I asked local moms what Southern Oregon Lavender Farm has the best things for kids to do on the Lavender Trail. Dos Mariposas is located at 3976 Bellinger Lane, Medford, OR 97501. They have a huge sandbox for kids to play in, play area inside and outside, and even a pond with ducks.
During the Lavender Festival days they’ll have live music, food trucks, lavender lemonade, u-pick lavender bundles, and kids activities indoors and outdoors! And did I mention this is a vineyard so there will also be wine for the adults.
English Lavender Farm
English Lavender Farm is located at 8040 Thompson Creek Road, Applegate, OR. They have a local food truck, live local music, and local artisan vendors onsite during the lavender festival. Families are welcome to wander through the lavender and take photos, and u-pick lavender is available in July.
Lavender Ally
Lavender Ally is located at 5734 Pleasant Creek Rd Rogue River, OR 97537. They have 13 different shades of lavender in a circular lavender field with a gazebo in the center. Check their website for special paint and sip events.
Kingfisher Lavender Farm
Kingfisher Lavender Farm is located at 7717 Upper Applegate Road Jacksonville, OR 97530. Kingfisher Lavender Farm will have u-pick lavender bundles as well as an extensive u-pick flower garden for other fresh cut flowers.
Butte Creek Lavender Farm
Butte Creek Lavender farm is located at 8650 Oregon 140, Eagle Point, OR 97524. This a smaller 2 acre family farm with 2 lavender fields. They offer u-pick lavender and other lavender products.
Charsaw Farms (Goodwin Creek Gardens Nursery)
Goodwin Creek Gardens Farm & Nursery is located at 970 Cedar Flat Road, Williams, OR 97544. They have 40 varieties of lavender in their lavender fields and invite your family to explore their lavender fields and gardens.
